Mac Pro Longwear Concealer: Worth the Hype?
Well guys, it's time for the next instalment in my "Worth the Hype" series! Now I'm sure that if you are an avid YouTube watcher like myself, you have heard everybody and their mothers talk about this concealer. Well after months of using (and loving) the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind under eye dark circle concealer, I decided it was time to see what this Mac concealer was all about.
It cost me about 24.00$ in Canada. It has a pump container which I absolutely love, but the pump is actually a little hard because you either do a full pump or none at all; there's no controlling how much product you get out at one time which is sort of annoying because I always end up pumping out way more product than I need. Now I suffer from some major under eye dark circles, and so I wanted to get the most brightening shade I possibly could, which consequently ended up being the lightest shade they had... NC15. You always want to get your under eye concealer at least a shade lighter than the rest of your face and foundation colour!

Side Note: The right photo I have foundation on the rest of my face cancelling out my redness, so that's why it's so much lighter than the photo on the left. |
Upon pumping this stuff onto the back of my hand it is really quite an odd consistency. I expected it to actually be thick, but it's really quite thin...But man is the coverage ever full. Once you disperse this product, you want to start working with it right away because it settles in quite quickly. I actually have a bit of a hard time washing it off the back of my hand after I am done my makeup, which I guess means it's decently water proof; perfect for summer! So anyways, it is quite creamy and lovely and I find it applies much nicer if you dab it on (ideally with a sponge) compared to rubbing it in. I just dab it in with my fingers, creating a large triangle down to my cheeks to highlight as well as conceal. I quickly set this with my Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder, but really I'm sure you could use whatever powder you wanted, even a loose one. Once finished, this baby isn't coming off until I use my makeup remover on it. My eye areas are a little greasy and usually this causes my concealer to slide off by the end of school, but with this I get home and it is exactly where I put it.
Long story short: if you need some serious coverage and wear-time from a concealer, then definitely check this out. No seriously guys... go buy it.
Let me know if you guys want to see my under eye concealing and highlighting routine!
That's the way I see it!
