The Naked 3 Palette: Worth the money?

Hey guys! So I know this isn't necessarily anything new, but I wanted to talk about Urban Decay's Naked 3 palette! Yes, it has a breath-takingly beautiful rose gold metal packaging that could make any beauty guru blogger faint at the sight of it. Yes, the shadows are so gorgeously arranged that it just draws you in and practically forces you to buy it. But let's get passed all of that and discuss the actual product itself!

The palette comes complete with a slick full length mirror and a duel-ended brush to create some pretty fantastic looks. One end of the brush is thinner and more delicate, I use it for the less pigmented, more delicate sparkly shadows. The other end of the brush is a thicker, more common brush that I use for entire lid shadows. Over all, a great package!

Next, we can see all of the twelve beautiful shadows that complete this palette.
(starting from left to right)

- strange : This shade is the off-white highlighting shade of the palette. Unlike some other white highlights, this one is more on the matte side than shimmer-y or glitter-y; a very subtle shade for under the brow or inner corners.
- dust : This shadow is by far my favourite of the entire palette! Though not nearly as pigmented as the rest of the shadows, it is more of a loose glitter product which yes inevitably leads to some fall-out. I like to use this dust as a finishing touch on my look on the inner portion of my eye lid.
- burnout : In the palette, this shade looks like a delicate pretty pink, but once I apply it to my eyelids (keep in mind that I am very fair) it comes out more of a bright almost red-undertoned colour. Over all, great for a more bold look!
- Limit : This shadow right here is probably the staple of the entire palette, through my eyes. It is the absolute perfect crease shade for any of the lighter looks. It formulates a flawless transition between the look of the lid and the brow bone!
- Buzz : This shade may be misleading to some, as it looks like a deeper pink shimmer shadow, but upon application, it really comes out more of a red-undertoned purple! Which is very pretty when applied correctly, but when put on in too much access, can look like a pink eye infection!
- trick : I love using this particular shade for the centre of my eyelid as it is a shimmer-y slightly pink-undertoned gold. It really draws attention to the eyes and makes them appear larger.
- nooner : This is the second and last matte shade of the palette. Once again, it is a very nice crease shade, but definitely for more dramatic looks as it is quite pigmented.
- liar : Now this is one of the more interesting shades in this Naked 3 as it is a rare situation where we have a brown with slight pink undertones! It's really beautiful, but quite dark upon application, so beware!
- factory : Here we get into the real more common staples of the palette. It is a nice chocolate-y brown with a delicate sprinkle of shimmer that has awesome colour pay-off, excellent for the outer corner!
- mugshot :This shadow is quite similar to factory except it is a few shades darker with a little more shimmer.
- darkside : Now we reach one of the dark brown shades that is more on the matte side of shimmer (similar to strange!) which can make an awesome crease, outer corner, or even whole lid colour depending on the look you're going for!
- blackheart : Finally, the last and by far most dramatic shadow of the entire set: Blackheart. This shade is quite unique as I have never seen one like this! It is a dark and very pigmented off-black colour, except this one contains small, delicate red sparkles in it! This could be used as a lower lash line liner to tie the look together, or an awesome dramatic outer corner for a smokey eye with a twist!

All in all, this is generally quite a good quality palette with great colour pay-off (save for the dust and strange shades)! I got mine in a Canadian Sephora for 62.00$, though I have found that online and in the states, you can purchase it for 52.00$. At the end of the day, I am so glad I purchased this product. But this may be because I have green eyes, and it is well-known in the beauty world that pinks and purple shadows greatly compliment greens and hazels. That being said, I have seen this palette on other eye colours and been blown away by how beautiful and attention-grabbing it is!

P.S. This is my favourite, more casual look to create with this palette.
